IATE Term of the Week series - what happened?

I had the pleasure to work for the Terminology Coordination unit of the European Parliament in Luxembourg. I was supporting the internal and external communication of the unit by various activities one of which to write and publish articles for the weekly series “IATE Term of the week”. It quickly became “my thing” as I love creating articles and I am particularly good at explaining complicated topics in a more “human way”.

However, some things changed at the unit, as I understood recently from a LinkedIn post by the ex Head of unit. The good news is that you can still access the archive for the series.

I am posting below one of my favourite pieces I published in January 2022, on a topic that became particularly important this year - the Artificial Intelligence Act. It was enforced on 1 August 2024 and it lays down the main responsibilities for development and deployment of AI within the European Union. Moreover, it will help to further define and establish digital services in the context of artificial intelligence.

Enjoy the article and let me know what you think in the comments below :)

The year 2023 corresponds to the year of extraction of the articles from the old Termcoord website.

Here you can find the whole IATE search results on the term “Artificial Intelligence Act”.

You can find the article as well as others from “IATE Term of the Week” in the archive here.
